About Us
My name is Lena Shirobokov and I am the owner of Lena's Gentle Care Inc adult family homes. My passion in life is to care for others and I have found a way to pursue my passion through the care for the most venerable and vulnerable members of our society: our elders.
Our fathers and mothers, brothers and sisters, who have given their minds and bodies to their families and community and are now having a hard time taking care of themselves.
Having worked for many years as a caregiver in various assisted living facilities I always did my very best to care for all my residents. However, I always felt that my patients deserved more. To be cared for with compassion in a home like setting and be more than just “Resident # ____” in a facility of dozens, if not hundreds, of other residents. I will be honest most of these institutions/assisted living facilities felt like warehouses for the elderly, not homes for our most respected citizens to live out their retirement in comfort and with dignity.
Seeing this need and believing that our elders deserved to have a better option for their golden years I decided to try and open my own retirement facility. My husband and I worked for many years to save up the money to create this business and do it right. It took a long time and an incredible amount of hard work, but in 2012 we opened the doors of the Morgan Facility (also known as our home) to our first clients.
We created this business in our family home because we want our residents to feel like they are a part of our family. To feel loved and cared for in a place that feels like home, not a warehouse or a motel room. The caregivers we hire are always licensed and experienced in caregiving. Our screening process helps us find the most caring and compassionate caregivers because we don't want this to be just another job, we want to find caregivers that love what they do as much as we do.
Our Hobbies
Vasiliy and I love gardening and raising birds. Our gardens are vast and beautiful, and we take great pride in them. I love my flower beds and vegetable garden, while Vasiliy takes pride in his orchard trees, berry bushes, and greenhouse. My husband and I work very hard to keep our home beautiful and our gardens flourishing.
We also have a variety of pet birds like our peacocks, pigeons, and a golden pheasant. At times we also keep chickens, ducks, and turkeys. Our residents and their visitors enjoy seeing and hearing our pets too.
Princeton Facility
In 2016 we opened the doors to our second adult family home we call the Princeton Facility. Like our Morgan Facility it is designed to be beautiful, spacious, and comfortable. Being avid gardeners, we had to create a lot of green spaces for our residents to enjoy. While this is not our primary home, I spend half of my day there (and often times my nights as well) so it has become like a second home for me.
Our work is our life and we love what we do. Our residents’ happiness brings us a lot of joy and drives us to keep trying to do more, to do better. We want to offer the best place to retire because our elders deserve the best!
